The eleventh month of the year is now gone, and it’s almost time for Sinterklaas and then Christmas. November had more events than I was actually planning for, but it all ended up going well. Let’s recap!
This is a portrait of mine done by Gonçalo Dias sometime in 2019 as a gift. Can’t necessarily remember if it was Christmas, or birthday. I think birthday. Definitely check out his work!
I wanted to write an article and, even though I have a list of drafts and ideas about things I want to write, I thought: hmm, I would like to do something more fun. That reminded me of the article I wrote about fractal snowflakes and how to generate them, which gave me an idea 💡!
Today I went to the weirdest museum I’ve been lately, the Kunstmuseum in The Hague. There were many wicked artworks. Fortunately there were also very pleasing ones. The best ones were the kinectic sculptures by Theo Jansen that you could interact with - I don’t have pictures of those so they’re not shared here.
My friends and I ended up having lunch very late (at 5pm) in Rotterdam where we ate Turkish, Greek, Portuguese and some Russian things. A lot. But a nice day.
I have recently noticed I have been writing ‘recently’ posts since September 2020. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting it to have been that long. Today, I am trying a different format. Sometimes I’m not sure on how to organize this monthly posts and I see some people posting bullet-list weekly or monthly posts so I decided to try.
Dekate Mousa, the photography association at my university, is organising a photographic exhibition at the CKE next month where pictures from the members will be on display. I’m so happy to see that one of my pictures was chosen to be on the announcement article at Cursor!
October started with a very nice trip to Paris, France. I was there from the 1st of October to the 3rd. We went by bus and it was quite a journey. Around 8 hours each way.
The week after, I had some Intro+ parties and activities. Intro+ was organized by the university for students that enrolled last year. It was quite fun: there was a pub crawl on the Thursday and then a party on Friday. I didn’t go Saturday, but I really do not regret the decision 😂.
I’ve shared this piece in the past in a post where I talked about trying pixel art. However, I feel it deserves its own micro post. Hereby I present you the chemistry tower of my previous university in Portugal 🇵🇹!
Found this beautiful Pirilampos Mágicos (magical fireflies) from April 2019.
Blinking lamps circa April 2019.
A bedroom lamp pixel art thingy I did back in April 2019.
The winter ❄️ has finally come. I have been wishing for snow for a long time. Coming from a warm country such as Portugal, snow is not the most common thing to see. In fact, I only saw snow in Portugal once when I was a kid when I went to Serra da Estrela, the highest mountain in continental Portugal.
