It is warm. Or, should I say, very hot? It is very hot 🔥! For the past few days, the maximum temperature outside has been hovering 30C in the south of the Netherlands. Here in Eindhoven we have, officially, a 80 to 100% chance of a heatwave. I think that’s a yes.
In just about a few weeks, I will be able to commemorate - if I want - my 5th anniversary in The Netherlands. The Netherlands: the country where I came to study, and where I decided to continue my life. But how did I end up here?
Soon, when the weather starts warming up again, I’m surely going to miss this sort of days. To be honest, I already do as they’re not very common around here.
It seems like it has been quitesome time since I published some photos from the neighborhood where I live, in Strijp-S. So I thought it’d be time to publish some more photos, but this time during the night. Took them yesterday and I’m quite happy with the result.
Three simple pictures I took during a walk in the Stratumse Heide. It’s already starting
to look somewhat like autumn, which I appreciate. I also haven’t used my camera for quite
some time, so I’m very happy I brought it with me. I went there hoping to see highlander cows.
Sadly, I didn’t see them this time, but I saw some of their… manure 💩.
There were some things I did not photograph because a thunderstorm was becoming closer and closer.
Therefore, we thought it’d be safer to start leaving.
Some months ago I went to Leiden, took some pictures and stored them in my hard drive. However, I’ve used some of these as wallpapers lately, such as the one with the fish 🐟. I thought it would be nice to share as I think they’re quite pleasant!
Today I went to the weirdest museum I’ve been lately, the Kunstmuseum in The Hague. There were many wicked artworks. Fortunately there were also very pleasing ones. The best ones were the kinectic sculptures by Theo Jansen that you could interact with - I don’t have pictures of those so they’re not shared here.
My friends and I ended up having lunch very late (at 5pm) in Rotterdam where we ate Turkish, Greek, Portuguese and some Russian things. A lot. But a nice day.
A few days ago, my boyfriend invited my go to the Bloesempark in Amsterdamse Bos. Unfortunately, I won’t be in the Netherlands next weekend so I cannot go. However, since the idea of going to a park with around 400 japanese cherry blossom trees (Sakura trees) 🌸 was too enticing, I gathered some friends and visited yesterday.
We traveled by train from Eindhoven to Amsterdam ArenA. We immediately saw that was not the best idea so we continued to Amsterdam Zuid and rented some OV-fiets there. It was my first time using an OV-fiets and I must say: they run very smoothly. But their brakes? Horrible.
We biked to and through the Amsterdamse Bos until we reached the Bloesempark and oh my gosh. So many people. Considering that there are around 400 trees there, I’m sure there was way more than one person per tree. There were also people dressed with some traditional dresses. It was incredible! Anyways, here’s some photos from yesterday.
